The goal is to make the crossing together, enjoy a short visit at Cape Mudge and return safely within the planned tidal-current window.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e\u003cspan role=\"text\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIs Paddle the Passage right for me?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePaddle the Passage is intended for competent, self-sufficient sea kayakers. Participants should have previous sea-kayaking experience, be comfortable controlling their kayak in wind, waves and moving water, be capable of maintaining an appropriate group pace, and have previous experience performing or participating in a deep-water rescue.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe route involves an exposed open-water crossing of Discovery Passage with cold water, tidal currents and marine traffic. It is not suitable as a first sea-kayaking experience.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNo formal certification is required.
