Intro to Tides & Currents

$80.00
Dates

Intro to Tides & Currents is a hands-on, land-based clinic designed to demystify one of the most important—and often misunderstood—elements of coastal paddling. Through clear explanations and practical examples, you’ll learn how to find and use tide and current information, identify the correct reference ports and current stations, and confidently interpret tables using tools like the Rule of 12s and the 50/90/100 rule.

The focus is on real-world application: how tides and currents actually affect route choice, timing, and decision-making for kayakers. By the end of the session, you’ll have a stronger mental model of moving water and a clearer sense of how to plan trips that work with the ocean, not against it.
